WWYDW

'What Would You Do Wednesday'.... this one is just around the corner from me. I think these might be the people who knocked on my door a while back enquiring about my exterior paint colour, as this colour is exactly the same as mine (yes I shared)... it's early morning in this shot... so the colour is deceiving. This reno has just finished... how would you finish it off to perfection? My starting point would be that garage door... but I think that's the finished product... as those garage doors, in that finish, are not cheap. I probably would have opened up the front porch more, back in the renovation process. What do you think? What would you have done?

Sunday Shutter

Aahhh the simple life. Isn't this beautifully simple! Pared down elegance. I couldn't imagine any other window covering in this spot. The chair ties it all in nicely.... just needs a few fluffy towels on it!
Happy Sunday!

Loving The Details

Oh what a view .....and I am not talking about 'the view'... but the house! Lap up that detail! ... the roof, the gable detailing, the joinery and of course the pretty lights.... and not a cobweb or spider in sight... it's definitely not Australia then!
Oh how the weeks go fast, wasn't yesterday Monday?.. and now Thursday has gone.
Happy almost Friday!

Monday Bed

Coastal Living
I know I said I was ditching the 'Monday Bed' for the 'Monday Shutter'... but I just couldn't resist this beauty.... oh the blues, the blues. To me, this is perfection!
Happy Monday!

A Bit More Coastal These Days

Coastal Living

There's something about a seaside abode that screams 'seaside' even if you are not looking out the door at the sea.... relaxing elements peppered here and there, that are not necessarily nautical but that hint at a promise of an escape from the stresses of daily 'city' life......raffia baskets and hats, books, simple flower arrangements, well loved furniture, tactile fabrics such as linen, hessian, calico, denim and canvas with ticking, gingham or delicate floral designs, casual rugs, huge sofas, big windows, natural materials such as stone and wood, maybe a star fish or some coral and here and there, aqua blue and sea green accents and of course lots of white!

Now our houses might be no where near the sea but isn't it easy to incorporate such simple elements into our homes?! I am being drawn more and more to interiors that have that relaxed but elegant coastal feel to them... neutrals, naturals, texture and light.... an air of simplicity. Not to say that the odd Louis chair and chandelier wouldn't fit right in there though! What coastal elements do you love seeing in a home?

Shut-aaahh

Ah the shutter...I have a million images of them in my 'shutter' file. They just say 'home' to me.... like the picket fence and the gabled roof. Maybe I should start a 'Monday Shutter' post. I think I am going to put the 'Monday Bed' to rest. Time for a change. What do you think?

WWYDW

Lets start off my 'What Would You Do' Wednesday Posts with this beautiful old Queenslander that I came across on one of my morning walks in my local neighbourhood. It has been taken off it's timber stumps and is obviously being raised. If you could do/change/contribute 2 things to this property to optimise it's street appeal and overall aesthetic, what would they be? What would you do if this was your place? It will be interesting to follow this project over the next few months. I will revisit it as things happen on site. It will be interesting to see if things that we suggest.... actually happen!!

Over to you folks.
