Lights Please

I am on the hunt for some spectacular (affordable - key word) light fittings for my new store. After the feedback and requests I have received from the Home Beautiful article, I have realised that maybe I should be only trading in affordable (key word), Hampton's style, light fixtures! The beauties that are out there have waiting lists attached to them!

Close To Home

A bit of coastal, from my own home. The little water colour painting is of the harbour in St Ives, Cornwall, England. It was my only purchase on my honeymoon.....14 years ago... something to remember beautiful Cornwall by. Look away now, fainted hearted interior designers - it is framed in an Ikea frame. The coral was a prop, provided by Amanda from Oliveaux on the day of the Home Beautiful shoot. The tray table is from La Maison.... one of my most favourite furniture suppliers in this hemisphere....something similar will be featuring in my new online store.

Totally Coastal

Look at these gorgeous day beds Karna made for her gorgeous coastal home, up in my favourite hemisphere. They met a sad fate, if I can remember... and are no more.. but hey, they are now recorded for posterity down here on this Aussie admirers blog. You can enjoy Karna's blog HERE.

Just taking a break from my study to 'cruise' interiors for some inspiration. Nothing says 'serene coastal' more than Molly Frey. Love everything she does.  It's cold here in sunny Brisbane today... overcast and cold... well for Brisbane anyway! Almost fireplace weather... almost.

Simple But Detailed

Be it ever so simple, I love the design details in even the spec homes found up in the Northern Hemisphere... the stone, the panelling, corner finishes!, the windows, even gables... my kingdom for more gables in this town. Hey, you don't get spec homes like that down here in the 'colonies'. Sigh!
